Common questions
Darcy-Weisbach or Hazen-Williams?
Darcy-Weisbach holds for any liquid and any flow, and is the one to use when in doubt. Hazen-Williams is an empirical formula for water near room temperature in turbulent flow, kept because many water supply standards ask for it.
Where do the roughness and the fitting coefficients come from?
The lists in the app are typical textbook values for pipes in fair condition and for common fittings. Old pipes are rougher. Where a maker gives a value for a pipe, fitting or valve, type that instead.
Why does my network say it cannot be solved?
The line above the drawing names what is in the way. A network needs at least one reservoir, and every junction needs a path of pipes to one.
Is the network drawn to scale?
No. It is a diagram: the length of a pipe is the one you type, not the distance between its ends on the screen.
Can a network have pumps, valves or tanks that fill?
Not in this version. A network is made of reservoirs, junctions and pipes, solved for steady flow. A single pump against a system is its own calculation.
Where are my saved calculations?
On the first screen, under Saved, on the device only. Deleting the app deletes them.
